Briarstone Inn #1 | Historic 7-Room Inn w/ Private Baths | Walk to Downtown Galena

We spent 2 nights at this home and were very satisfied. The whole check-in process was fully hands-off via electronic media and coded door locks. It was VERY helpful that my code matched the last digits of my cellphone. Easy to remember. We did replace the batteries in the TV remote after we spoke with the host as to where to find fresh batteries. Being on the second floor, we needed to be patient for the hot water to reach our bathroom. Kind of like be back home again in the 50's and 60's. Rather nostalgic. I was impressed that the hosts trusted the customers to take care of the property. Access to the shared full Kitchen was appreciated as well as the cleanliness of everything there. Someone got up pretty early in the morning to make a fresh pot of coffee that we enjoyed. Thanks for you first class hospitality! Hope to see you again.

The inn is lovely and the room is very nice. It is an easily walkable distance to downtown Galena.Be aware there is traffic noise from hwy 20, but the owners provided a sleep-noise generator in the room which was very nice.

This location is an easy walk to downtown so no driving necessary. The building is well maintained and clean. Our room was well decorated and clean as was the ensuite restroom. The only issue is the location on State Route 20 - our room was at the front of the building and the traffic noise is very noticeable.
